I wanted to let you know about FUN FOR ALL Day--March 1, 2008 which will be held at the Warrenton Sports Complex (Athey Fields). This day of family oriented activities is being sponsored by the Playground Committee of the Warrenton Fields Association. They are raising money for the Fun For All Playground, an accessible playground that will be built at the Warrenton Sports Complex. This playground will help all children with their physical, social and psychological development in an inclusive environment. The goal is to create a park where all children, regardless of their cognitive and physical abilities, can come together and have fun!
This is a great opportunity for all of our recreational and travel team sto sign up and run the Fun Run and enter to win the free pizza and swimming party at the WARF. We also need volunteers and assistants throughout the day so please consider signing up as either a runner, walker or assistant and help make the playground a reality. You can see more about the event and download a registration form at www.funforallplayground.com
Another exciting March event is the Fauquier Friendlies. This new FCSC tournament will be held on March 15-16 at the Warrenton Sports Complex/Athey Fields. The focus of the tournament will be to promote player development through a festive style competition. The teams will play three games in a round robin format with no scores or standings. The Fauquier Friendlies will provide a great atmosphere for teams to focus on taking risks and creativity, rather than focusing on getting into the finals. Special attention will be made to bracket teams providing good competition in their games, and the fields will be the best in
Northern Virginia for the U9-U12 age groups. If your team hasn’t signed up, please visit www.fcsc.org/FauquierFriendlies for more information.
Soccer season is almost here—we can’t wait to see you all again real soon. As always, if you need anything or have questions, don’t hesitate to contact any of the Board members or Staff. Our contact information can be found at www.fcsc.org/info/contacts.
Cheers!
