KidSafe is a risk management program designed to foster safe circumstances for every person, and especially every child, who participates in an US Youth Soccer affiliated activity.
It is a program to inform all US Youth Soccer volunteers and employees concerning the risks associated with youth programs. The current KidSafe program states Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Travel Team Managers, Professional Coaches/Trainers, members of Boards of Directors (including committee members) are "volunteers" under the KidSafe program. Anyone else who may be alone with kids would be subject to completing a KidSafe form and a background check. We exclude parents that run carpools and team parents, but would include a regularly designated parent(s) a team may have stay with kids, if a coach has to leave practice.
The program is mandatory for all members of VYSA. Information on KidSafe forms are kept in absolute confidentiality by each member club and must updated every two years.
